Brief Answer:
if persist more than few days,it may need evaluation .

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

There are many possible causes for pain in the left groin. Most common cause is a strained muscle but usually this kind of pain only last for some days.
Other possible causes are:
-Inguinal hernia or femoral hernia. In this case the pain is worse if you do a physical effort like walking, running, lifting something or if you cough.
A physical examination is necessary to exclude this.
-Urinary tract infection can cause such pain. You may need to run an urinalysis.
-Urinary tract stones .You may need to run an abdominal X-ray and ultrasound.

If this pain in left groin persists more than few days ,you need to consult a physician.A detailed medical history, associated symptoms and physical examination are essential to understand something more about the cause.
Depending on these information you may need to run some tests like:
-Urinalysis
-X-ray, abdominal ultrasound.

Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have any other question or doubt to clarify.I will be happy to assist you further.

Kind regards,
Dr.Rovena Murati
