Brief Answer:
Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery would help as permanent treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hello

My name is Dr Muhammad Ali Rauf & i will look into your problem.

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. Such symptoms occur because of imbalance of pressure within skull. Pressure alters whenever one travels to high altitude. Two types of therapies are suggested:

1. use of Decongestants few days before flight
2. Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS)

In case sinuses are not maintaining adequate balance of pressure, FES is the permanent treatment of choice. As your wife's problem is recurrent so permanent treatment should be considered instead of medical therapy. For this i would suggest you to visit a tertiary care hospital and get an appointment for a "Consultant ENT Specialist" who is specialized in dealing with such conditions. He will examine her in detail and will run some labs to confirm the current status. Further management plan will depend upon the test results.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
