Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking HCM.

I read your symptoms and will explain what need to be done.

With passing of time, hiatal hernia might be dhe cause of gastritis or even worse ulcera of stomach or esophag due to the reflux.

All the signs that you describe correlate with gastro esophageal reflux disease (GERD)

The first choice of medication are the PPI (proton pomp inhibitors) like pantoprasole ect.

I recommend to do a gastroesophagoscopy to check your stomach, esophag for signs of reflux (gastritis, ulcera) and start the treatment with PPI.

Here are some advice to soften the symptoms:
-eat early in the evening, around 19:00
-when you go to sleep, put a pillow in your back
-avoid food containing fat, fries
-have fresh fruits and vegetables
-avoid alcohol

If you have any other question, don't hesitate to ask me.

Wishing you good health.

Detailed Answer:
For the pain and the burning sensation you can use antacids (mucaine gel)only. PPI omeprazole tablet or pantoprasole tablet can be found in every pharmacy.
Prilosec OTC can be taken without the need of a prescription. For other types of PPI you might need to check up with your family doctor.
