Brief Answer:
please get an X-ray done for further evaluation..

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX, Welcome to HCM,

I've gone through your query and understand your concern,

Now had it been a simple bruise and injury, then by now it should've been healed with those OTC pain-killers and other measures..

So, in my opinion, you should,

1. schedule an appointment with an Orthopedician for a detailed clinical evaluation..

2. Please get an X-ray(AP, Lateral) of the injured Knee joint to rule out any hairline / underlying fracture..

3. Continue Analgesics in the meanwhile..

4. Apply ice cold compression and avoid those rubbing medications, please don't rub the area..

5. keep your leg elevated from the ground and even when you sleep keep it elevated with the help of a pillow..

6. avoid sitting cross legged and avoid any strenuous work which can put your leg in to further strain..

There may be a need to do MRI scan (as there may be a possible ligament/meniscal injury also) but that can only be decided by the orthopedician after the clinical examination and further evaluation of X-ray..

Please let me know if there's any further queries, i'll be glad to clarify..

Take Care
Kind Regards
