Suggest Treatment For Nerve Pain, Burning Sensation And Cramps In Legs

Posted on Mon, 9 Nov 2015
Question: Hi - I am considering the medicine Horizant for Nerve Pain, Burning, spasms, discomfort with clothing on feet, legs. Feels like feet and legs are 'taped tightly'. It's been going on for 10 + years. I have taken Tizanidine for the leg cramps in the evening, at bedtime which helps. Symptoms are worse at night and Horizant has been suggested. Skin on legs, feet is tight, and feels like they are 'taped', something tight around them. It's frustrating, uncomfortable and interferes with my walking. MS was suspected several times, without diagnosis.

Brief Answer:
Hello. You can try it

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. Your symptoms point towards a neuropathic pain. This is due to involvement of peripheral nerves of our body.
You can start on this drug. However you must note following things
1. Start with a low dose and gradually build up
2. This can cause some side effects like drowsiness, lethargy, decreasein appetite which are usual side effects and will go in a few days.
Also i woulf advise you to undergo a nerve conduction velocity test for the diagnosis adn detail evaluation of neuropathy
thanks and regards
