Question: i have these symptoms shoulder and neck pain my should started out with a small knot that throughout thr past 4 years has gotten very large and now another knot has formed on top of it. i did get into a car wreck years ago and got whiplash and i think thats why i have the neck pain the shoulder knot just form and ive assumed it was stress until now its so big im hunching my shoulder over and the pain has never went away it has only gotten worse with time and the knot has grown with time. i had a mri about 2 years ago now because the doctors thought it was a fatty tumor but nothing came up on the mri but the lump in my back was so large they thought maybe for some reason it wasn't showing up on the mri but they were confident it had to be something so they did shoulder surgery and found nothing? i was told by the doctor that the muscle had over grrown in that area or at least thats what i got out of what he said. also they numbed me up very well during the surgery after i remember feeling no pain and it had been so long since i didnt feel constant pain in my shoulder but after the numbing medication wore off i still had pain and its gotten worse and worse and now i am forming another lump above the other lump this one comes up to the top of my shoulder and almost kinda wrap around my collar bone which in turn is causing more pain. with my neck pain i've noticed especially lately i will feel pressure on the bottom of my head like where my hair line starts and it feels like its cutting off the blood flow to my head it makes me very dizzy sometimes and i feel off balance a lot and sometimes i wish i could just pop it and it would release whatever is being pinched and i would feel so much better but i have been to so many chiropractors and nothing has helped ive went through every neck pillow there is and i currently use one that i paid 200 for plus i sleep with a heating pad on it every night i also have the TENS pain relief device that i use to try and loosen up my muscles i use oils and rubs ive tried neck braces u name it ive tried it and nothing is working in fact i have gotten so much worse i used to own my own cleaning business and i no longer am able to clean because the pain is so bad and when i do clean my own house it takes me 4 times as long as it ever used to because i have to be careful not to over work my should or neck i waitress but that is even hard because on the days my neck is hurting i hold it a certain way like tilt my head to the side almost then i get embarrassed because i know people see im holding it weird and it almost makes it worse and i tense up sometimes i will have take a deep breathe and considerate on relaxing and like tell myself to move my neck something that should be so simple as to move your neck isnt for me. im at the point where idk what to do but i cant go on like this number 1 im always in pain and its alot of pain that is constant and a burning feeling almost it used to go away and i would be fine then come back but it has went from that to 24-7 pain its like idk what happened couple years ago i got around just fine and slowly i started to be able to do less and less and now im not even sure in another year ill be working period because if i dont fix this i feel like i will continue to get worse and i take no pain killers for this and im really trying to stay that way and i dont know how much longer i can do that cause taking 6 advil or ibuprofen and 4 tylonel is not working. i am 26 years old also. what is happening to me? i need help? is it auto ammunition disorder? is it im lacking in something? is it cancer that is spreading? please help me

Brief Answer:
Need a photograph of the swelling.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I think I will need a photograph of your lump if possible. You can upload it in reports. Also upload any previous reports of the doctors and any other report which you are having. Also I want to know about your family history if anyone is having similar kind of problem. I think it can be a connective tissue disorder or may need neurofibroma with atypical presentation or may be a lipoma which has grown so big as to cause pain or it may be some keloid like thing which has regrowth after the surgery. Anyways, if it is a dermal neurofibroma with atypical presentation, it can be treated with CO2 laser therapy. If it is a lipoma, it needs excision again. If it is a keloid, it will not resolve in size, but can be made stagnant by intra dermal injection of triamcinolone acetate and hyaluronidase. I think you should take some multivitamin supplements of vitamin B12 which is found to be effective in certain neuropathic pain. I think FNAC is a good option for making a diagnosis and to rule out cancer. You can try some physiotherapy also to get relief from your pain. You can discuss all these things with your doctor. If possible, consult a neurologist. Hope this helps.

i attached picture of the lump its hard to see but i tried to show each side of me so u can see the difference. if u look my right should is a lot bigger then my left side and its almost starting to make me hunch over the lump on my shoulder that u can see well there is another lump forming right above it but u cant see it yet. Also I have to add that all of my pain is on my right side my right side of my neck hurts the right side of my should and my right leg idk if that has anything to do with it but I thought I would tell you. Also on my right side underneath my armpit kinda where your ribs first start is always sore to the touch and there is also a knot/lump there. I also have pain that goes clear down the arm. Just that whole area hurts. It's getting harder for me to work out.As far as my family history my mom has always complained that he body hurts but doctors couldn't ever tell what was wrong with her but she doesn't have the knots like I do none of my family does they are all pretty active. I've Had Someone Tell Me It Could Be A MAGNESOME problem that could causing all of my Injurys not to heal cause of the inflammation and it makes sense but what worrys me is the lump in my back has gotten bigger and now I am getting another so that's the part I don't understand. Why is it getting worse if I haven't re injured my shoulder? When they did my mri they didn't do it with XXXXXXX and they saw nothing and when he did my surgery he said it was just over grown muscle but didn't explain to me why the muscle was over grown and I did some research of my own and you can form muscle cancer from having swelling to long on an injury and I feel like her should have tested my tissues. I feel like the doctor just didn't know what it was and since there was nothing there he was just like k your fine its a small town and I don't think they know anything beyound your main possible out come. It should have been a red flag to him like why has this girl formed a lump for no reason? I don't know I'm beyond frustrated my body is getting worse rapidly after all of the treatment I've done to try and make it better none of it has worked and it's not at a stand still is becoming worse. I'm 26 this is not normal and I have a bad feeling that when I do find out what this is its gonna be to late cause I know my body and I know something is seriously not right.

Brief Answer:
It seems like a dermal-subcutaneous neurofibroma.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I have seen your photos.

In my opinion, it looks most likely a neurofibroma probably a dermal-subcutaneous neurofibroma. The other symptoms which you are describing here also supports this diagnosis. It is basically a nerve sheath tumour which can lead to humps in body at a single or multiple locations.

It can be diagnosed by biopsy and immunohistochemical staining. MRI can also help sometimes. The treatment is generally a CO 2 laser treatment, but it can cause disfigurement of the site of tumors.

Generally surgery is not preferred. Also, it is not precancerous, that means cancer risk is not there. Do discuss with your doctor regarding this. Hope I have answered your question.

If you have any other query, I will be happy to help.
Regards
