Among all the types of seizures(like generalized tonic clonic.absence,focal,myoclonic)the myoclonic seizures are most difficult to control.
The main management of myoclonic seizures are valproate and benzodiazepines. The management also depends on the underlying condition.In some cases it is benign and can be controlled with the medication but when it is associated with some syndromes or metabolic disorder then the prognosis is not very good. Please let me know about the investigations done(like EEG,MRI,any genetic or other blood test).

I would like to know what medication he is getting as some anticonvulsant like phenobarbitone,lamotrigine and carbamazepine may worsen the seizures.

Sometimes when myoclonic seizure is not responding to high dose of combination of antiepileptics ketogenic diet may provide some relief.
