Suggest Treatment For Multiple Sclerosis

Question: My daughter is having seizures, she is an adult & has MS. Has been seen by family MD been taken to ER and still no one is doing anything to help. What is our next step? She falls and has numerous injuries to her head as a result of falls. We are worried about subdural hemorrhage if this continues.

Brief Answer: Anti-epileptic drugs should be started. Detailed Answer: Hi, Thank you for posting your query. I have noted your daughter's complaints. I feel she should be started on anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs) to prevent recurrence of seizures. I agree that continued seizures could result in fall and injuries. The cause of seizures could be her underlying multiple sclerosis (MS), as a small proportion of MS patients can have seizures. EEG should be done to find out the type of seizures.
