Brief Answer:
Treatment has been along correct lines.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted the case details, reports and treatment given so far.

I must say, that the patient has received excellent care and it has been done along correct lines.

The most likely diagnosis here is herpes simplex virus encephalitis (HSV E) and he has been given a full course of zovirax (acylovir) for the same. Improvement in CSF cell count shows that acyclovir has helped the patient.

The other possibility is auto-immune encephalitis, for which solumedrol (methylprednisolone) is given.

The only other treatment that may be considered here is a course of immunoglobulin injections (IVIG).

I hope my reply has helped you.

I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.
