Suggest Treatment For Loose Stools

default
Posted on Mon, 8 May 2017
Question: I am having stools of loose consistency for past few months and need help in understanding the nature of my problem.

I have bowel movement (type 5 or 6 on bristol scale) once a day (morning) and for past few months I am having kind of loose consistency motions. Usually I empty my bowels and I don't get the urge to go for rest of the day. Though I get some discomfort in lower abdomen which goes away after passing gas.

I have a healthy food habit and my diet includes fruits and vegetables along with pluses and legumes. So I intake adequate fiber along with pro biotics like homemade curd (yogurt). I seldom eat out or consume alcohol but in limit (not more than once or twice a week).
I also exercise few times a week mostly swimming, running or brisk walking.

So I am now puzzled and I am doing things right, then why I am suffering from such problem. Is this some kind of IBD or only IBS and how can I cure my condition.

*Clinically you have IBS with inflammation going on inside the lumens of
intestines still not properly under control.
*Evaluated your reports thoroughly.
*All you are doing fine keep it up but still you are not ok satisfactorily , have
some tips :
@ Be confident from inside & BE POSITIVE , your inner strength is of utmost
importance to keep your symptoms under control.
@ Keep laughing from deepest corners of your heart & see the life from new
angle as every rising sun gives new rays of hopes for everyone.
@ Avoid all oily / spicy / nonveg stuffs / excess ghee / beverages /cheese .
@ Avoid any intake of alcohol / smoking / abuse substances if any.
@ Deep breathing exercises and YOGA specifically Kapalbhati & Anulomvilom for
30 min. per day without failure helps tremendously in regulating bowels on
long term basis.
@ Don`t prefer prolong fasting / overeating.
@ Chew your food properly & thoroughly.
@ Have plenty of liquids preferably - boiled water, lemon juice, coconut water,
rice water , home made juices, butter milk etc.

insectisides instead consume all organic fruits and green vegetables, which
matters a lot.

Dear Sir,
Firstly thanks for kind and encouraging words. In understand my problem is my doing only and solution to this lies within with strong positive attitude and self belief.
Due to work stress and odd working hours I did have erratic meals and sleep schedule and this got ignored initially and worsened to the point where it is now. I do need to be on top of things from now on and quickly remedy very early signs of problem and try to take preventive rather than corrective actions.
I am regulating my meals and sleep as much as I can given my schedule. I do those yogic exercises, but will make a point to be more regular and thorough with them.
I do need to take a break, but I am afraid if I travel and eat outside food then problem may flare up, so this is just adding up to my anxiety and I suppose I need to get better first before I think of travel.

I had few followup questions and it would be very kind of you to address some of my these concerns

1. Usually how long does it take for this problem to be cured, given the medication and self correction I am undertaking as per your advice?

2. What I am worried is if this problem goes on much longer then it may turn into more inflammatory like hemorrhoids or IBD. What are the chances of that happening given my case?

3. I have old recurring Vitamin B12 deficiency noticed right from 2010, when it got tested. Every 2, 3 years I get this test done and count comes near or below the lower limit. Right now I have taken 5 injections (2 ml) of Victofol and my (gastro) doctor has said that is sufficient for 3 years. So should I go for any supplement on daily basis or for some duration or current dosage is good enough for say 2 years?

4. How often should I get my Vitamin B12 levels checked? is there any other test you would recommend, whose deficiency may be causing current problems.

5. Why do I get frequent depletion of Vitamin B12 levels? What I understand is that this gets absorbed in the end of small intestine and as per my colonoscopy/biopsy report in 2012, it did report erosion/ulceration at that part of my (ileal) intestine. Is that cause of non or low absorption of Vitamin B12? Do I need to get something else checked up or investigated? Or just live with the problem and take B12 injections or oral supplements rest of my life.

6. What I understand so far is my case does not count for any invasive procedure like endoscopy/colonoscopy. Can we say that with some certainty? What I am afraid of going to a Gastroenterologist, he may want to do some invasive procedure which I am just not ready for right now.

7. What I understand from reading is that how long fecal matter stays in your colon affects its shape and consistency. In loose motions or diarrhea one has many bowel movements, so matter is expelled frequently and hence it is mostly watery. But I am having a regular bowel movement once a day, so why I have a semi formed stools. Shouldn't they be well formed, given regular time spent in colon.

8. My gastroenterologist had prescribed my general usage of psyllium husk supplement (powder) to generally keep stools soft, so they are passed easily and hence preventing hemorrhoids. He said it can be taken life long. I do take occasionally when say I eat non veg food and when I feel I am having hard stools. I have stopped taking this since I am having loose stools. Should I take this supplement in current condition or just wait till it gets cured. Will this have any positive or negative effect on current situation.

9. Lastly I have read that Rifaxim helps in this case. Is it possible for you to write any prescription for me, which I can take to chemist. Also along with what probiotic would this help. Recently I was prescribed colonise-mv and sometimes I also take enterogermina (oral suspension). I can go to my gastroenterologist again, but not sure if I would get same treatment.

Anyway thanks again for patently reviewing my questions, would appreciate any responses for the same.

Brief Answer:
Respected XXXXXXX hi find here everything what you want to know.

Detailed Answer:
Respected XXXXXXX , Hi Good morning , nice to talk with you.
*thanks for your appreciation but never mind it`s part of our duties and moral
responsibilities dear to help out as Mediators in this world.
1.We usually predict perfect circardian rhythm of bowels within 4-6 weeks period
provided everything is practised very precisely.
2.Usually very very less chances of Hemorrhoids from this condition but other
worsening is in your hands by your worries dear , relax relax why you want to
flare up your condition on your own, here we are to solve it not worsen it dear.
3.B12 deficiency is due to malabsorption of bowel & injections effect is not going
to last for 2-3 years , you have to take supplemental B12 tab. like
Methylcobalamine (1500)microgram to be kept under tongue till total dissolve
daily once for 3 months ; stop for 1 month then again same on regular basis.
to meet daily requirement of your body.
4.No other test only B12 level checking at 6 months intervals.
5.B12 levels lowering is directly due to malabsorption from intestine, so no
harm in taking daily B12 tab. as told rather than getting afraid for it it`s
safe without any side effects.
6.No invasive procedure is required at present & if you follow & adhere
yesterday`s all points I assure it will not be required in future also.Yes, you
will not believe but it`s 100% true dear.
7.Many factors affect consistency of stool apart from it`s time in colon, so
neverthless worry of it , just focus on overall wellbeing of your body with
perfect rhythm of intestine with pace of your body. That`s all.
8.Psyllium husk not recommended in condition of frequency of stools infact
it harms at present. so better once frequency of stool is under control, can
start with 1 teaspoonfull then 2-3 as per body adjustment and stool softening.
9.Sorry Dear but prescription drugs you have to get from your family doctor`s
prescription , Gastrologist is not required for the same.I don`t know whether
they allow online prescriptions in Direct question, then in that case you can
go to my direct consultation online and get the same prescription, but better
first confirm with Health Care Magic Officials for the same & then proceed.
10.Lastly I would recommend you very strongly to drink boiled water (for20-30
minutes on stove) cooled & filled in Matka only round the clock, anywhere at
home/office.No refrigerated water /RO water / outside water in form of
Bislery also, I know it`s very hard but not impossible & see it`s magic
effects within sometime.Initially you will find odd test, later you will Love
only that water.I am practising it since 20 years for my whole family!!
Thanks for patience reading my answer.
Would always Love to hear from you regarding any query & may God have
made my duty to write for you as a Mediator & making some great POSITIVE
outcome in your life.
Regards.
Bye dear take care.

Dear Sir,
I think you have answered all my queries. I would try to replace regular RO water with boiled water and see. Above all what I know and what you have enforced for conditions like these being positive is the best.
Regarding prescription I have one for rifagut which I believe is Rifaxim. Can you suggest me any generic name for probiotic and vitamin b12 capsules/vitamins/oral which i can take over the counter as you said they can be taken long terms without any side effects.

For now I will continue with colospa-x and finish the course, and if condition is still the same, I will consult my gastero. again.

I think what I realized is more than medicine it is the positive attitude that will help in this case.

I have no more queries and once again thanks for the encouragement.
