Suggest Treatment For Large Boil On Inner Thigh

default
Posted on Fri, 4 Mar 2016
Question: Is there any way to treat a large boil without having it lanced? I am on day 3 of antibiotics and have been applying tea tree oil, neosporin and taking hot baths. It is getting more painful and I'm wondering what I can do. It is located on my inner thigh.

Brief Answer:
Take broad spectrum antibiotics, anti inflammatory medicines

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcare magic

I would like to ask you which antibiotic are you taking for the boil ? I usually recommend my patients to take broad spectrum antibiotics like amoxicillin clavulanic acid combination or tablet linezolid.

If it is painful and swollen I recommend my patients to take anti inflammatory medicines containing serratiopeptidase and diclofenac combination along with hot fermentation of the boil.

For local application instead of neosporin I recommend my patients to apply potent antibiotic like mupirocin over the boil twice daily.

These medicines are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.

Dr Asmeet
