default
Posted on Fri, 17 Jul 2015
Question: Hi. so last week I noticed two red marks on my back that looked like I had got bit by something. (Which was weird cus it wasn't itchy or anything. I luckily noticed them one day after a shower) the next day they turned into what looked like bruises. they have yet to go away, on Tuesday it'll be a week. And today I noticed that one of the "bruises" was peeling.

Need images for further comments.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to health care magic,

I have read your query and understand the concerns.

As per your descriptions, it may be due to some insect bite or some allergy.

It would be helpful if you can take a picture of the affected lesions (two red marks) and upload it on the right side of query page as there is feature to send images.

I won't be able to comment without a single look at the lesion.

I will give you my opinion after looking at the picture.

Awaiting for your response...

Regards,

Brief Answer:
Healing bruise.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the follow-up.

From the pictures, it looks like healing scar tissue. May be caused by trauma, scratch or an insect bite. But it seems to be healing already. You can apply antiseptic cream with mild steroid like betnovate-N to get rid off this mark.(as the skin is not open so we can apply steroid). I am not sure if its available over the counter. If not, you can try other antiseptic agent with a mild steroid cream that is available over the counter.

I expect it will subside within 5 to 7 days. But if new changes start such as increased bruising, vescicular changes, discharge so on, consider visiting the doctor.
