Posted on Wed, 15 Feb 2017
Question: I have areas on my arms, legs, lower back (more or less all over except hands and feet, elbows, head) etc that are itchy and when scratched the itchiness greatly intensifies and takes forever to calm down....... they also develop into pimples/sweat pimples/blisters or something like that with clear liquid in them......when you bust them they itch and you just want to keep scratching everywhere

Brief Answer:
Answer few questions

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have reviewed the attached photographs and would like to ask you few questions:
What is the duration of the rash?
Are all these lesions fluid filled or some are solid bunps?
Are you having fever, bodyaches, joint pains or any other associated complaints?
Have you used or applied anything new on the body?
Is this the first episode of this kind of rash?
Kindly revert with the answers.
Regards
Dr Asmeet

Not all have fluid in them...some are like hives. I do have aches and pains. Nothing new has been applied. This has been going on for approx. 15 years I would reckon.

Brief Answer:
Endogenous eczema and its management

Detailed Answer:
Hi
According to your complaints it seems to be endogenous eczema which is due to internal sensitivity of the individual.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply topical steroid like cortisone cream on the affected areas along with frequent and liberal application of a moisturizing lotion containing white soft paraffin on the entire body.
Besides this I would recommend you to take antihistaminic like tablet cetrizine 10 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching.
Also avoid harsh soaps for bathing, use mild soaps, avoid hot water for bathing and instead use lukewarm water, avoid wearing woollen clothes in direct contact with the body and stay away from cold dry winds.
These measures should help in dealing with your problems.
