Consulted local gyno & she gave contraceptive pill to make it normal & it became normal. but whenever i stopped taking the pill, again had abnormal period. Now i am 28, last year i was on some hormonal supplement. but as i stopped it after 6 months. I am again started having a new problem. Now the bleeding continues for 34 days non stop with blood clots.Doctors are saying after having a baby the situation will be normal. Is it true? Please help me out. I am in panic. Brief Answer:
Overweight or PCOS

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to healthcare magic.

The variation duration and flow could be due to polycystic ovaries or obesity.

If you are overweight or obese please reduce your weight.

Please ask your doctor to do an ultrasound scan to diagnose if there is polycystic ovary. Generally Contraceptive pills are given to correct it.

Let me know if you need any more clarification.

Brief Answer:
PCOS

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

If you have PCOS ( confirm it by scan) You need to see your gyneclogist and start on metformin tablets.

PCOS causes disturbance in hormones leading to irregular cycles.

Most important would be weight loss if you are overweight. This helps in regularizing your cycles.

Brief Answer:
Contraceptives will regularize your periods.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

You can take the contraceptive after marriage if you are not planning to conceive. It is safe and will even regularize your periods.

Remember to reduce weight if you wish to conceive in future.
