Brief Answer:
Can you provide an image of the rash for review?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about what you have been experiencing. Often, making the difference between an insect bite and poison ivy if often difficult. However, poison ivy has the tendency to occur on different parts of the body while insect bites are often well localized on one part of the body. An image of the rash that shows its nature and distribution would be helpful in making the distinction.

The good news is that these conditions are often managed in almost the same way. treatment consists in managing symptoms which often consists in using antihistamines or steroids. Which to used would be guided by the physical examination of the rash.

With the above, I would appreciate that you upload an image for review. Look to the right of your dashboard and click on the link to upload a file and follow the instructions to upload an image and sent to me. I would review and respond as soon as I get it.

In all, treating yourself from home is very possible considering all you have said. To make sure this is correct and choose the right drug/treatment option, I would like to review an image from you.

I await your response. if this is not possible, let me know and we would try to figure a way around this.

Brief Answer:
More suggestive of poison Ivy!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have reviewed this image fully. There is no clear spot that might be suggestive of a spider bite. I am leaning more towards the possibility of poison ivy. This as of now isn't too severe and does not ned that you go to the hospital. I will recommend you stop apply any creams to it and use Benadryl orally to control the symptoms and swelling if you are in pains, then do add tylenol for pain control.

Finally, I will like you to keep this area clean and do not pick on it often. Follow up with me with 24-48hours with another image. This will help me see how well the healing process is going and also whether there is need for any further measures.

I hope this helps. I hope to hear from you as recommended.
Until then, I wish you a speedy recovery.
