Question: Hi doctor, I just had a baby 2 months ago, I am planning to have another baby in the next 10 months around as I want a 1 and a half year gap between my first and second. Second reason being, I know of many people that have tried controlling for 2 years + and then find it hard to conceive known as second infertility and I don't want to be one of them.
My other reasons of not controlling for so long is I have underactive thyroid and my mother never conceived after me so I have this fear.

I wanted to ask that could the above factors affect my fertility if I wait too long for the second? Or am I right in not controlling for too long? Basically I don't want to then live with the guilt that I shouldn't have controlled for too long. And I don't mind having another one, I'm fond of children.

Brief Answer:
You can definitely try after 1 year

Detailed Answer:
Hi
GREETINGS
Nature has given a gap between 2 children by preventing ovulation when you completly breast feed your baby.
Irrespective of that sometimes ovulation happens and there is a chance of pregnancy.
Ideally one year gap will be better for you to concentrate on your first baby and if you conceive after one year you will get additional 10 months to spend with your first child.
There is no harm if you conceive even after 6 months.
Hope my answer helps you.

Hi ok. Im not fully breastfeeding hes more bottle fed rather than breastfed. However, i just want to ask that can waiting for a longer time reduce fertility die to the factors of having underactive thyroid and genetically my mom was unable to concieve after me? My only fear is rhat if i wait too long 2 years and more i might find it hard so i personally feel i must try after a year while being fertile. Would u suppose that?
