Suggest Treatment For Infection After Unprotected Oral Sex

default
Posted on Mon, 27 Apr 2015
Question: Hi I am really concerned and worried. I received unprotected oral sex from a female. For some reason I started to get really paranoid about genital herpes. It has been eight days. I have no symtoms such as fever swallow glands headache. I have no blisters or alike on or around my genitals. However I have noticed four red spots on my lower leg. They seem to look like insect bites. It's making me feel really paranoid. Also one similar spot on my other leg but on the thigh. I have noticed lots of flying insects near my work place in the last week. The spots do not look at all like the images on the Internet of genital herpes. No itching no hurting no blisters... Thanks

Brief Answer:
Unlikely to be Genital herpes.

Detailed Answer:

Hi
Welcome to HCM.
I appreciate your concern towards the rash (red spots) on your left lower leg and right thigh.

I have gone through the problem described in your case, I am of the opinion that the red spots are most likely to be due to insect bites, given the fact that they are predominantly seen over the legs.

Most people with the herpes simplex virus show small blisters that burst to leave red, open sores around the genitals, rectum, inner thighs and buttocks, there may be pain while passing urine.

In your case there is no blister formation, no soreness, no itching or pain and typical location of the rash is also not there/

In view of the above explanation, the red spots are unlikely to be due to Herpes infection.

Apply calamine lotion for the relief of those spots.

Hope the suggestions made above are of help to you.

Thank you for your answer. It's been ten days since I had the unprotected oral sex. I keep reading different symptoms on the Internet if a outbreak was to happen would it be likely to be between 4 to 7 days or could it be between 1 to 2 weeks. Also I keep on looking at my genitals every time a get a chance making me so paranoid. Is this unnecessary because would it be really itchy or tingling down their before a outbreak happened, or would the blisters just appear? Thank you in advance for your answers. Ahmet.

Brief Answer:
It is unlikely to be genital herpes.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome back to HCM.
I really appreciate your concern towards the rash following unprotected sex.

Herpes simplex virus infection causes recurring episodes of small, painful, fluid-filled blisters on the skin, mouth, lips (cold sores), eyes, or genitals.
Before the actual rash erupts, localized tingling, discomfort, itching, or aching may occur at the site of eruption of the suspected rash.
The symptoms usually begin after 2-12 days of exposure.

Genital herpes affects the genitals, buttocks or anal area.

There is no need to worry about the possibility of getting the infection, since until now you have not developed any sign or symptom of what is suspected to be herpes simplex.

Hope the suggestion given above would be helpful to you.
Best regards.
