Question: i suffer from inappropriate sinus tachycardia. And i take ivabradine 7,5 mg x 2 and atenolol 50 mg..i had a blood pressure on 168/100 and a pulse on 128 (but at that time i suffered from a stomach flu) but my cardiologist did'tt think this was the reason so he put my on additional 25 mg at night time of atenolol but for some weird reason my blood pressure has now fallen to 110/60 and i have a pulse of 58-60 so i wonder if i should stop taking the 25 mg again...i cant get hold of my doctor until monday

Brief Answer:
Normal bp and heart rate...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns.

Your blood pressure (bp) and heart rate are within normal range. So, there is no need to change dosage.

Only in case of low blood pressure ( systolyc bp below 90 mmhg) accompinied with symptoms (dizziness, fatigue, presyncope etc.) then I advise not to take the second dosage of atenolol.

Otherwise you should wait until Monday consultation with your doctor.

Hope it helped!
