Question: I have horrible "pressure" in my head/jaw throat area ... and my sinuses are gone wild. Also, my bowel movements are way off kilter (I have gone to the potty SIX times today). What may that mean?

Two different conditions requiring attention separately

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. The pressure you are experiencing in your head-jaw-throat region is purely due to the flare-up of your sinus. May be you have not experienced these symptoms previously but they are purely due to your sinus, and if at all you have been prescribed medications for your sinus previously you should take them. But if you have not, then please write back to me and I can try to help you with that.

As for your bowel movements, with such a sudden occurrence the cause could be:

+Indigestion
+Stomach infection: Due to ingestion of contaminated food or drink. If you can remember what you ate or drank 2-6 hours prior to the invitation of your symptoms, then that could very well be the cause for your irregular bowel movements

If it is indigestion, then you need to just wait till your system expels the undigested food. As for the infection possibility, then you can start off by taking the following:

+Drink plenty of fluids (boiled water)
+Avoid oily, spicy, fatty, fried food
+Eat home made boiled food
+Use probiotics (Either the ones available in the pharmacy or natural probiotics like curds, etc.)
+Eat bland food
+Avoid milk and other dairy products (other than curds)
+You can also use an antacid like ranitidine, omeprazole, etc.

I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
