Suggest Treatment For High Fever,sinusitis, Ear Pain
Question: Hi, for 4 days now I have had a high fever, sinusitis, ear pain and loss of hearing in the right ear, as well as a sore throat and fatigue. Been taking Sudafed, Tylenol, afrin nasal spray, throat losenges, temp after Tylenol recheck in an hour is 100.8. down from 101. went to the doctor yesterday, he says it's viral, but it feels bacterial,what do you think?

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having sinusitis with hearing loss.
Yes. viral illness can cause complications like sinusitis and ETD (eusthacian tube dysfunction, the tube connecting the middle ear and nose will be blocked by sinusitis where you get symptoms like hearing loss and ear blockage.
I suggest you to to consult ent surgeon and get detailed ent examination (sinusitis), otoscopy (status of ear drum, audiometry (eusthacian tube dysfunction), depending on the examination reports further treatment is required accordingly.
Mean time, do steam inhalation to drain sinus secretions, take pain killers like Brufen twice daily for ear pain, avoid water per ear( plug them with dry cotton during bath), continue same medications, until you see an ent surgeon.
