Suggest Treatment For High Fever With Sore Throat

Question: I suddenly developed 102 fever ( may be after 7-8 years) … doc said it was due to throat infection ( I had red swollen throat inside with some white spots) … Gave 1) Amoxycillin Trihydrate IP 500mg+Potassium Clavulanate Diluted IP 125- 2 tabs for 3 days ( 2) Hifenac P - 2 tabs for 5 days (3) Mucolite - 2 tabs for 5 days each. After taking medicine for a day I stopped and fever got high and throat got bad . I stopped becos the medicine was giving me a choked chest feeling next morning. I have no coughing … just sore throat on right and fever which sometimes goes upto 102…. today after 3 days I started taking medicine ( in between I tried some hoemeo also)

After reading your post, it seems that you might be having a bacterial infection in your throat and needs medication.

I would advise that you should get a throat swab culture and sensitivity test done to know the causative organisms and the appropriate antibiotic for it.

An antibiotic according to the reports of the throat swab culture along with an antihistamine like Fexofenadine 120 mg once a day will be helpful in controlling your symptoms. You should take paracetamol 500mg three to four times a day for high grade fever.
Warm saline gargles will have an added beneficial effect.

Avoid cold and spicy foods.
