Brief Answer: Follows. Detailed Answer: Dear Madam, Thank you for posting your query on HCM. Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that there are many drugs that can be started . If you are obese then it would be good if we start on with metformin which is a very good drug in controlling blood sugars and will help you in reducing weight also . Other drugs like sulphonylureas can also be added according to your blood sugars . But this decision can best be taken by your treating doctor as your blood sugars will need to be frequently monitored and thus further dose will be adjusted based on this .You can discuss these option with him also. Take care. Dr. Shruti
