Suggest Treatment For High Blood Pressure And Nausea

default
Posted on Tue, 8 Nov 2016
Question: I have high blood pressure and have felt very nauseated most of the afternoon and I've also had heartburn since eating about 3pm today. After getting in a jetted tub in fairly hot water for 15 minutes I laid down in my bed and tried to sleep. However my nose was so stopped up I got up and used some Nasonex which I use every night. Instead of being able to breathe better I cannot breath through my nose at all. Any connection in the hot jetted bath and the stuffy nose. I do not have a cold so this is quite unusual for me.
Thanks, Lynda

Brief Answer:
Drug interactions likely

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Hot jet baths should thin the mucus in the stuffy nose and should make it breath easy. You do not need Nasonex instead saline water drops can clear the stuffed nose. They help you breath better.
Instead I think of drug interactions as well.
Citalopram reacts with many anti BP medicines by making them stronger and work longer. Citalopram with Amlodipine and Carvedilol have moderate interactions.
I suggest to check with your treating doctor about the doses that you already on. There may need titration of doses given the adverse reactions.

All the best.
