Question: I had a heart attack 2 and half years, this week I had nearly the same symptoms. Went to hospital and had blood test, they come back fine. Still worried, as my blood pressure is high still. I have still got this cold and feels like a chest infection

Brief Answer:
Take an EKG.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

The fact that you have had a heart attack in the past is significant. Now, you mention having almost the same problems. You probably feel that you have or are in the process of having another heart issue. Now, the gold standard when it comes to heart issues or any doubts about heart problems is always the EKG. This is the ElectroCardiogram. This is a graph taken of your heart, it is painless and takes a few minutes. There are no issues. The EKG is "read" by a cardiologist within a few minutes. EKG is like an Xray that reveals all the workings of your heart. So, as a doctor, first and foremost, I would tell you to take an EKG. Since your blood tests are fine there is probably no infection. You mention that you have a cold. Frequently, a chest issue makes a mimicry of a heart problem. There are chances that you problem may be a simple viral infection, i.e. common cold. I suggest you take Tylenol and Over the counter medicines for your cold. These do not require a prescription and are easily available.

To assure yourself and to be on the safe side, I would ask you to take an EKG.

Thanks.
