Brief Answer:
You need to continue medications with diet and exercise

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HCM. I have gone through the question and understand your concerns.

Your random sugars were high to start on medications. Once started on medications, your target blood sugars should be fasting less than 130 mg/dl and after food less than 180 mg/dl.

I suggest you to do an HbA1c - which is the 3 months blood glucose. This will give an idea about your current diabetic status.

Since your blood sugars are better on Metformin, you can continue with same medications and check your blood glucose every month and HbA1c after 3 months.

Hope I have answered your questions. If you have any further queries I will be happy to help you
