Brief Answer:
Alcohol is likely to be the primary cause.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. The answer to your query lies inside the question itself. Drinking alcohol is damaging to the liver. This damage causes the liver enzymes to be released into the blood stream and that is likely to be responsible for the SGOT and SGPT levels. You need to restrict your alcohol intake, if not abstain from it altogether, if you want your liver to recover.

Ayurveda medicines or any other medicines will not help. Imagine being punched hard in the face and then some medication being applied to it. Imagine that this goes on everyday. Do you think that recovery would be appreciable? Similar is the case of your liver.

Let me know if I could help further.

Thank you Dr. I knew it was alcohol so I have decided to cut it down but would like to know if I require some other medications or exercises to improve my liver condition, and I would also like to know how bad is in the state of liver damage I m . N how much time will it take to recover completely if I m cutting my habit of drinking to 1 or 2 days a week?

Brief Answer:
Cut down as much as possible

Detailed Answer:
If you can stop alcohol completely, recovery will start noticeably in 6 weeks. If you reduce it, the injury will still be there. So recovery will still get nullified. Medicines will not help.
