Question: For the last 3 months I have had high blood pressure that is uncontrolled with medication. Additional symptoms include episodes of profuse sweating, flushed in the face, fatigue, constant ringing in the ears and occasional abdominal pain. Could these symptoms be related to an issue with the adrenal glands? What steps should I take next? Additional testing?

Brief Answer:
Secondary hypertension

Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Noted your concern.
The symptoms you mentioned could be suggestive of secondary hypertension.
You need investigations for the same. Please request your PCP to do CBC, electrolytes, Renal functon tests, a doppler scan of kidney and renal vessels.

Symptoms may be due to pheochromocytoma which is due to excess production of epinephrine/norepinephrine secreted by adrenal gland

You may also need additional investigations later. For this, an endocrinology consultation is required. An endocrinologist need to examine you and carefully look for signs of secondary hypertesnion and order focused investigations.

Regards
Binu
