Brief Answer:
Once Hernia is diagnosed, it has to be operated.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
In Hernia, abdominal contents like small intestine or Omentum (intra abdominal fat)will come out through a small defect.
In few patients, the content will get blocked causing pain.It is called Irreducible hernia.Later, the bowel may get obstructed, leading to vomiting. Still further, the bowel may become gangrenous.
So,once the diagnosis of hernia is confirmed, it has to be operated. There is no medical management for hernia.
As per your description, it looks like Irreducible hernia. Please consult your surgeon, get examined clinically and proceed accordingly.
Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
