Suggest Treatment For Hemorrhoids

Posted on Sat, 25 Jun 2016
Question: Hi I have had haemorrhoids before. First time I had bleeding. The other two times no bleeding. This time considerable bleeding which now has subsided - Only spotting if touched or if bowel movements are hard. Does not happen when stools are soft. The lump is flattish and skin colour with a red spot from where the bleeding comes from. On the first day of bleeding a purple squishy bit was near my anus which i just removed - clotted blood ? No pain bleeding only spotting if touched or if bowel movements are not soft. Sometimes i can touch it without bleeding. Should i try and push it back in?

Brief Answer:
Can be a clot / push inside - have definite treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Female/51 - have had hemorrhoids before - bleeding for the first time - considerable in the beginning - now has subsided - spotting if touched or hard stools - purple squishy bit near anus which you removed - lump is flattish and skin color with red spot ....

Purple squishy bit near the anus could have been a blood clot.
Yes, you can try to push the lump after good lubrication with Xylocaine or such jelly.
If it remains inside well and good.
But if it prolapses, you may need a corrective procedure at a later date to avoid the recurrence and prolapse and bleeding.
Such Hemorrhoids are best treated to give a permanent cure as they do re-appear.
Consult your Surgeon to have a detailed digital per-rectal examination, ano-proctoscopy and colonoscopy too.

I hope this answers your specific queries and also adds on to have proper decision.
