Suggest Treatment For Hematoma On Thumb
Question: yes I asked this question before on this website....the top of my left thumb was "hit" on the job with a lets say spring loaded piece of plastic ...twice back to back ... hit hurt mildly like owwwwwww.... a small bump appeared and the previous dr. said it was most likely a subdermal hematoma.. which made sense... ie blood or bleeding injury below the skin.... and she said it would take longer to heal / go away.... well its been about a month and a half almost 2 .... I guess... the bump kinda split into two bumps ... one moving toward tip the other about in same place .... can you tell me whats going on here ... both tiny bumps are still tender to the touch.... very confused why not healing/ going away??
Brief Answer:
I think you need a doctor's help
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied you case and I think that your hematoma is not getting absorbed. It can be either because blood collection is little more.
Other cause can be that it is infected.
So I would recommend you to visit a doctor and get it examined. If there is any collection he might need to aspirate it with needle. This will allow blood to absorb early.
He would also like to offer antibiotics to you to take care of any kind of infection.I would suggest you to do it as soon as possible.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks.
