Suggest Treatment For Headaches, Bloating And Cramps After Taking Contraceptives

default
Posted on Tue, 30 Dec 2014
Question: Hello.
I started birth control last march and ended two months ago because of the side effects (headaches, bloating, cramps, light headedness)
Ever since birth control i have been getting sick all the time. By sick i mean my stomach is bloated all the time, i am gasey, i cant poop regularly or at all, my head hurts, my head feels heavy to the point where i feel so light headed, and i get nauseous and have diarrhea. I also get trembly (arms and legs)
Even now when i am off it after two months i still feel that way.
Is all of this because of birth control? Stress? If not what is it? Please help. I want to feel normal again.
Is it even bc at all?

Brief Answer:
Rebeprazole, CBC, examination

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear. Thanks for giving me an opportunity to answer your query.

I deeply regret for the nature of side effects which you have experienced.I understand this has affected your quality of life.I believe that now after discontinuation these are not that intense which used to be previously when on these pills.

Do you have fever? Are your stomach symptoms related to time of your meal/diet?
How is your appetite?
Are your bowels regular?

According to me, your stomach symptoms are due to acid peptic disease. I were to start a short course of Tab.Rabeprazole 20mg)(available over the counter) daily before breakfast for 15 days.I would like to do an abdominal examination, evaluate further by doing endoscopy/abdominal scan if necessary, labs(complete blood count) to rule out anemia.

You symptoms are unlikely due to stress. Since they have been present for 2 months post discontinuation I were do a complete check (complete blood Count CBC) for identification of the underlying cause.

Hope this answers your query. Please feel free to reach for further clarifications.

Brief Answer:
Please brief about headache

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear.Thanks for writing back.

Since when do you have headache?
What time of the day do you see it?
What is your nature of work? Are you a professional? Do you have any work related pressure?
Do you have headache even on weekends?

Lactose intolerance gets better when you avoid milk and milk products. Rest can be tolerated without any difficulty if your stomach is healthy. If you strongly feel lactose intolerance, lactobacillus tablets available over the counter provide relief from your symptoms. They can be taken in 3-4 divided doses.

Hope this answers your query.

I think i have a hormonal imbalance. When i was on birth control i felt this way, and ever since i have stopped it two months ago i still feel this way. Whenever i am on my period i feel fine, but when im off my period i get bloated, headaches, my arms ans legs feel trembly, i get light headed, i get gas problems/cramps, and constipation. When the birth control is out of my system will this go away?

Brief Answer:
Hormonal imbalance is unlikely if cycles are regular

Detailed Answer:
Thankyou once again for writing me back.

Ideally the birth control pills would have been completely eliminated from your body this time since you have stopped them 2 months before.

Further withdrawal(sudden fall) of the hormones in the blood result in the periods and that is when you feel you are normal.I would you assure you that hormonal imbalance is unlikely as long as your periods/cycles are regular.

According to me these are few side effects which have been aftermath of birthcontrol pill and shall definitely subside gradually.Take tablet Rabeprazole as advised.Avoid junk, spicy, oily food.Regularise your food habits.

Hope this answers your query.
