Brief Answer:
Most patients make complete recovery, consult neurologist or psychiatrist

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
There are many different medical conditions which are included in brain fever. It can be meningitis, encephalitis or cerebritis. These are all infections primarily affecting the brain and its coverings. Most patients make a full recovery and are normal for the rest of their life.

A girl of 13 years who suffered brain fever will most likely have made a complete recovery. However, to confirm that she is completely normal, she should take a neurological clinical examination by a neurologist or psychiatrist and only if the doctor recommends, a CT scan or MRI scan or brain might be required.

Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Brief Answer:
Doing a brain scan is most confirmatory along with clinical examinations

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

Headache is a common symptom. However you can consult a neurologist and let them take a detailed history and examine her. Headache can occur once a month even in normal people due to tension or stress related issues. Since she has had brain fever many years back, it is less likely that the headaches are due to anything seriously wrong. Doing a brain scan will confirm that her brain is normal.

Hope your query is answered.
