Brief Answer:
No need to worry

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for posting on HealthCareMagic. Congratulations on having a baby. Let me emphasize on the fact that breast milk is the best food for a baby and there can be no alternatives for the same. Exclusive breast feeding should be given to a child upto 6 months of age. You have not mentioned whether the baby is breast fed or formula fed. I would like to know that.

About the bowel habits, please note that passing stool 10 times a day is as normal as passing stool once in 10 days and in either case you need not worry unless the stool is hard in consistency. Greenish stools are normal too.

The farting is due to intra-abdominal gas formation which occurs due to bacterial degrdation of the undigested food materials in the intestine. As such, it is not a cause of worry.

You have mentioned that the child is not feeding as she used to. The adequacy of feeds would be evident from the amount of urine she passes. Passing urine 6-8 times over a period of 24 hours would be considered normal. Anything less should raise a concern but not otherwise. I would like to know the average frequency of passing urine or wet nappies in her case.

Her crying could also be due to abdominal colic and not necessarily hunger. Give her Decolic infant drops 6 drops during such episodes and see if it resolves. Probably there is not much to worry since you mention that she is otherwise healthy.

She is on total breastfeed and she used to have normal feed but from last one week her milk intake decreased significantly from 30 minshe used to feed to 10 min 5-6 times a day
She is passing urine 6-8 times a day

Brief Answer:
Feed one breast at a time

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. When she is breast fed exclusively, there is not much to worry anyway. When she feeds, ask her mother to feed her for upto 20 mins from a single breast only and then for the next feed after 2 hours use the other breast alternately. Also tell her to include the full areola of her breast along with the nipple in the baby's mouth. I think that things would be just fine. 30 mins of feeding is immaterial as the breast does not contain that much milk and chances are that although the baby is sucking on, it is sucking in vain. 10-15 mins of feeding at a time is supposed to be adequate. Make the feeding 6-8 times a day but you need not wake up the baby if she is sleeping. Feeding can be given at 2 hourly intervals or on demand of the baby.

Since the urine is adequate, you need not worry.

Decolic is similar to gripe water. Decolic contains a medicine called simethicone which reduces bloating, discomfort or pain caused by excessive gas.
