Suggest Treatment For Fungal Infection In Liver
Question: On April 1, 2015 I began treatment for Atypical Mycobacterial Pneumonia with Clarithromycin 500 MG tabs, Myambutol 400 MG tabs, and Rifampin 300 MG caps, 2 tabs, all daily until March 31, 2016. I also have Gerd, Diabetes mellitus and Multiple pulmonary nodules. Did a CAT scan September 29 and the results given to me October 13 was that the AMP fungus across both lungs is no larger but not any smaller. And that I am just to continue the same RX treatment. And then they still do not guarantee a cure of the fungus. Should I seek a second opinion. D. XXXXXXX

They are group of bacteria which show infection in immunocompromised patients like patients with diabetes, long term steroid therapy, HIV infection, chemotherapy drugs etc.
Since you are already diagnosed and started treatment for atypical Mycobacterium infection, by the time (6 months), you must have improved.
Since your recent CT scan is not improving, better to consult another pulmonologist and get done broncoscopy and XXXXXXX (bronchoalveolar lavage) analysis to rule out malignancy or other chronic infections.
