Brief Answer:
Avoid application of steroids

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same.
Now you seem to be developing recurrent fungal infection in the groin area .
Although you have been taking treatment for your problem but both times you were prescribed anti fungal drugs in combination with steroid agents . This can be the reason for recurrence of infection .
You should stop the application of those medicines .
Apply candid cream twice a day over the affected area after cleaning and drying the region for two weeks continuously.
Take tablet flucos 150 mg once a week for two weeks .
Do not apply any other cream or oil over the affected area.
Wear cotton undergarments so as to reduce sweating,
Get your blood glucose levels checked to rule out diabetes.

Brief Answer:
Otc medicine

Detailed Answer:
You can get canestan cream as an over the counter medicine . Apply it twice a day.
Uncontrolled diabetes might be the reason for recurrence of infection in your case.
So get your glucose levels monitored by your treating doctor.

Are the flucos 150 mg tablets available over the counter??

I monitor my sugar daily and it runs between 100 & 168. Am I to assume that this condition has caused the fungal infection??? I have had the fungal infection off & on for several years and only diagnosed with diabetes several months ago. I was in the hospital 12/2012 and was not found to be a diabetic but had the infection??????

Thank you,

Brief Answer:
Reason for recurrent infections

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

You will not get flucos tablets as Otc drug.
You might have to see your local doctor for a prescription in case of recurrent infections.
Although fungal infections in this area are very common in this area but recurrent infections are very commonly seen in patients with high glucose levels .
But since your blood glucose levels seem to be under control , your infection should heal with proper and complete treatment .

Make sure you apply the medicine regularly for atleast three weeks since you might not be able to take the oral tablet .
