Question: My son has had food poisoning for about 12 hrs now, with rehydration efforts causing more vomiting within 10 or 15 minutes. He complains of his back being very sore in the area of his kidneys, and has continuous leg muscle cramps. Should I take him to emergency care?

Brief Answer:
Take him to the emergency unit!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

If he’s unable to keep anything down, please rush him to the emergency unit. He would need parenteral fluids and electrolytes. The leg cramps often signify dehydration and low electrolyte blood levels.

In all, take him immediately to the emergency service for immediate care.

Keep me posted about his evolution.
