Question: Hi doctor,
I am 48 and suffering from Uveitis to right eye since last 3 years. I have taken the help of healthcaremagic time to time. pl refer to my old reports.
My right eye was operated for cataract 2 years ago. My vision is clear now .Only need the spectacles to read. However I find heaviness to right eye. There are floaters in the vision but now I am used to it. But when I continuously read a book, after 30-40 min. the eye starts watering.I find eye is tired. Pred forte one drop per day is being used if the heaviness continues? If this is the condition of eye right now then what it will be after 10 more years?
pl suggest remedy. I follow up ophthalmologist every 3/6 months.
Regards,
Ms.Abhyankar

Brief Answer:
Overstraining your eyes.

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Thanks for query.
Tired eyes are often caused due to overstarining of eye.As such there is no specific treatment for tired eyes,However taking anti oxidants and multivitamin can help in long runs.
Some general precaution that will help are-
Check your lighting: a high amount of contrast will put more strain on your eyes, so whether you’re reading, watching TV, or working on the computer, make sure you have the room lit evenly, so your eyes don’t have to work as hard Give your eyes regular short breaks from reading say afte every 20 minutes a five minutes break.
Get your eyes checked up once every three months for glasses and numbers.
Take food rich in vitamin A and E.

Regards.

Thx doctor for the reply. Here are few quarries about my 'Uveitis

1.I am suffering from uveitis since last 3 years. I had consulted to healthcare many a times. You can refer my previous reports. My right eye was operated for cataract 2 years ago.
2. My vision as such is clear now but there are floaters in right eye which distract the vision to some extent. I use the spectacles for reading otherwise distant vision is improved.
3. I always find my right eye under stress and heaviness. If I read 30/40 pages of a book, then eye start watering.Eye feels stress. Some times it pains also.
please suggest remedies. How to control uveitis ? will my vision remain same or will it be still detoriate as per the age?

Brief Answer:
Follow up advice.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
40 pages of a book in one go is too much.As age of individual progresses the muscles surrounding the eye gets week(normal ageing process).Try to understand your limit.Forcing your eye beyond limit will going to do harm in long terms.

Its normal for vision to detoriate with age even in normal person.Your eye is already compromised so first thing to do is don't push your eyes beyond limits.
In case you feel heaviness stop reading close your eyes for 10 minutes and let them relax. There is no treatment meant to treat eye fatigue as such however multivitamins and anti oxidants can be taken to delay the progression.

In case if pain is more take one tablet Diclofenac sos.

As per treatment of uveitis is concerned you are already on steroid drops. Option of using Mydriatic eyedrops slong with prednisoloner drop can be discussed withh your treating doctor.A definite or direct cause OF uveitis has yet to be identified so as we don't know the cause how can we cure it?
Try mydriatics along with steroid.Kindly discuss option with your treating doctor.

Thanks.
