Suggest Treatment For Fever In Child

Question: My son is running temp since last night. I gave him 5ml Babygesic at 9pm and 3 am but the temp is there. What to give and what to feed.

Brief Answer:
Paracetamol and plenty of oral fluids

Detailed Answer:
Hi...by what you quote it looks like viral illness. If your son is normal in between fever episodes in a single day...I don't think you should worry as its only 2nd day of fever.

You can give him Paracetamol in the dose of 15mg/kg/dose every 4-6th hourly (maximum ceiling dose 500mg), that too onlyif temperature is mmore than 100F. If you can get back to me with the current weight of your son, I will suggest you the medication.

You fan feed him anything nonspicy.. Rather than solids, plenty of oral fluids ate going to make him better soon.

Danger signs include breathlessness/ rash/ low urine output/ seizures/ unconsciousness/ blood in motion. Don't worry if these are not there & the kid is active.
