Brief Answer:
viral infection of the gastrointestinal tract

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is likely that you had viral infection of the gastrointestinal tract (gastroenteritis).

The gastrointestinal tract normally produces small amounts of mucus, in the case of infections, the amount can temporarily increase.
It will return to normal when the infection resolves.

The main aspects of treatment are: (1) fluid management - this is to treat and prevent dehydration
Because you are vomiting, you have to use very small amounts initially or you will only vomit it back up.

Use oral rehydration solutions from your local pharmacy or gatorade (also has necessary electrolytes)

Take 1 tsp to 1 tbs every 5 minutes for the first 1 hour then increase the amount slightly in the next hour.

If there is no vomiting for a 6 hour period then you can start using dry solid foods in small amounts

(2) hold off solid food for a few hours and concentrate on fluid replacement

(3)probiotics- these help to restore normal flora to the gut. They can be obtained in the form of yogurt or used on their own from the local pharmacy

(4)anti emetics- there are medications that can help with reducing the vomiting

Examples are dramamine or pepto bismol

(5)paracetamol for the fever

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
