Suggest Treatment For Excessive Sweating, Nausea And Dizziness

default
Posted on Tue, 22 Nov 2016
Question: Have been experiencing excessive cold sweats, nausea and dizziness over past few weeks, especially after I eat. I've been keeping food logs (I'm trying to lose weight) so it's not any one thing triggering it that I can tell.

Please provide further information

Detailed Answer:
Hello Madam.

I can certainly understand your concern.

Before guiding you further, I would like to know if you have any other symptoms like sore throat and any associated medical comorbitities like Diabetes, Hypertension and Thyroid disease.

If yes, what medications are you currently using for the same.

Thank you.

Hi. I had a thyroid test recently and while it did not show hyperthyroidism, it was closer to that end of the spectrum. I'm on no medication for that. I have no fever, no sore throat, and have vomited a few times after eating but afterwards feel fine, so it does not feel like a stomach bug.
I'm wondering if this is related to menopause? I haven't had my menstrual cycle since November 2015, and so many things seem to be able to be chalked up to menopause symptoms.
I am not diabetic. My blood pressure was getting high, but I've been exercising a lot and losing weight. The last time I took it, it was 120/78.
I am on Fluoxetine, 60 mg daily. Other than that I have an inhaler for asthma, which is occasional, and over the counter allergy medicine.

Brief Answer:
Dose reduction of Fluoxetine will help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Madam.

Yes, Menopause can be a reasonable cause.

But Fluoxetine 60 mg is usually associated with dizziness.

A dose reduction is advisable.

Continue Asthmatic medications as prescribed.

It's advisable to keep Fluoxetine to 40 mg.

Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe these changes to you.

Post your further queries if any.

Thank you.
