Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea In A Child While On Zinconia

Question: Hi doctor ...my 3 year old child is unwell having loose tools...doc suggested zinconia 5ml for 14 days....condition improved and aftr two days of no potty ...today she has similar loose tools ....very stinky farts and potty...pls advice. ..

Can understand your concerns.

Smelly loose stools suggests that the child is suffering from acute gastroentritis.

If having recurrent loose stools then stool routine microscopy test and stool for reducing sugar should be done.

In my opinion, you should give
Syrup cefixime for 3 days
Enterogermina ampule once a day for 3 days
Continue zinc Syrup for a total of 14 days.

Since, medicines in children are given according to weight, i suggest you to meet the local doctor for needful.
