Brief Answer:
Please rule out other causes that lead to depression

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HCM. I have gone through the question and understand your concerns.

Please rule out other cause of depression, confusion and lack of concentration.

1. Do a thyroid function test make sure you are adequately replaced with thyroxine. At your age TSH should be below 2.5 miu/ml

2. Please check the medications you are on for PCOS - if you are on some oral contraceptive pills for PCOS, that could cause these symptoms. If so change the medications to non hormonal drugs

3. Check your blood glucose, HbA1c, vitamin D, blood routine, cholesterol etc to look for any underlying diseases.

If all reports are normal, you should consult a psychiatrist and get help with anti depressants.

Hope I have answered your questions. If you have any further queries I will be happy to help you

Hi,

Welcome back.

PCOS is a condition that affect around 15-20% of females of your age. So no need to postpone marriage for that.

There are two main issues with PCOS -
1. Increased male hormones and cosmetic problems due to that - which we can treat medically and cosmetically
2. Ovulatory problems - irregular menstrual cycles and fertility issues. Both can be treated well with medications.

I have gone through the reports - FSH, prolactin and thyroid function is normal. TPO is positive (suggesting a cause for hypothyroidism - the high value has got nothing to do with treatment), but you are adequately replaced with thyroxine.

The testosterone report is usually given in many units and lab normal varies. So mention the unit (ng/ml, ng/dl etc) and the normal for that lab.

These reports do not point to your symptoms. I think you should consult a psychologist first - try some life style modifications, meditations, yoga etc and if nit improving consult a psychiatrist and get started on medications.
