Brief Answer:
He needs urgent evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist, here to answer your query.

Acute onset of hallucinations and slurred speech definitely needs urgent evaluation. Brain injury (a stroke) needs to be urgently, ruled out. Further, metabolic abnormalities like disturbances in blood sugar, serum electrolytes, kidney function tests and liver function tests can also cause such acute onset symptoms.
Whatever the cause,it appears to be something acute and needs to be investigated and managed on priority.

Hope that helps. If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

Regards
Dr.Ajay Panwar,
MD,DM(Neurology)
