Posted on Mon, 14 Nov 2016
Question: ir,

My wife(age 23) had her last period ended at 8 September. While waiting for the next period it got delayed. Hence she thought to test pregnancy on 20 October. She found positive.

We don't want this baby now bcz of some work commitments.

I would like to know from you that since it has been nearly 6 weeks. Can some thing be done in order to not to have this baby.

I want a measure that it should not affect my wife's health and she can easily conceive next time.

This has created a little sad think due to unexpected baby.

Brief Answer:
Medical or surgical method

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Termination of a 6 weeks pregnancy can be done by both medical and surgical methods.
Medical method is easy and has no invasive procedure involved, however failure can occur in 2% cases.
Surgical abortion is done in hospital and has no failure rate.
Both the methods are safe, have no effect on the patient or her future fertility , if supervised by an OBGYN specialist.
I will suggest your wife to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examination and ultrasound done and to select and undergo the most appropriate method for termination of pregnancy.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
