Question: could this be a fissure on my heel? I went to Dr a few years ago bc I had EXTREMELY DRY skin on my heel... very dry cracked skin... now I have this. I am sure this is AT LEAST 3 years old.... what do you think is going on. splinter maybe? I was going to soak in hot soapy water OR Epson salt. .Suggestions please.

Brief Answer:
could be splinter/plantar wart

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question
It could be that you have something in there that needs to be removed like a splinter or other foreign body. It is also possible that it is a plantar wart. Soaking it and filing off the dead skin with a nail file may give you a better idea. If it is a plantar wart then you should see a clear center core and possible some tiny black spots around it. In either case you are probably going to need to have a doctor look at it and possibly shave it down with a scalpel, especially if it is painful. If it is red around it (I can't really tell from the photos) then you should be seen right away since that could mean infection.
Please see a doctor about this soon
