Question: Hello, I am a 52 year old female weighing approximately 118 lbs. At age 48 I had a hip replaced due to I guess you would say genetics..I am experiencing chronic upper rib and chest pain, like in the breast bone area and under the shoulder bone area. If I should try to lift with my right arm...I simply cannot the pain worsens. Coughing and sneezing is very painful. I feel as though it is now traveling to the center of my chest, since I have gotten a cold, within the last two days. I do receive botox injections for chronic migraines, which just started to work for me. The pain started chronically about 2 months ago. HELP

Brief Answer:
Possible Frozen shoulder? Requires further evaluation

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam.

I can certainly understand your concern.

I have worked through your question in detail.

Your symptoms probably point towards Frozen shoulder, a condition in which there is inflammation of the shoulder joint capsule.

It's important to get an MRI of the involved shoulder for accurate confirmation of diagnosis.

This should be coupled with x ray chest.

Further management if any is based on test reports.

Post your further queries if any.

Thank you.
