Brief Answer:
Acute bronchitis or Pneumonia

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for your query at HCM.
I understand your concern and situation.
It could be acute bronchitis if your cough has persisted for 5 days or more and fever is low grade. Do have sputum while coughing? Pain in chest? If your temperature above is 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit), and you have loss of appetite, shortness of breath, and generalized achiness it could be due to Pneumonia. Pneumonia usually requires the use of antibiotics like ceftriaxone, cefixime, azithromycin, etc based on results of sputum microscopy examination and culture sensitivity test for aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. You must also get tested for complete haemogram and blood culture. You must visit a physician for proper evaluation if difficulty in breathing, swallowing, high grade fever. Till then you must take over the counter cough suppressant like dextromethorphan, acetaminophen and multivitamins. Eat healthy and protein rich balanced diet with plenty of fluids. Take adequate rest. You will be completely fine.
