Brief Answer:
Possible Asthma?Needs PFT's for confirmation and further evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,

I understand your concern.

You seem to have incompletely controlled Asthma.

For this I advise you to get Pulmonary function tests/PFT to guide you further .

Meanwhile you can continue the same course for another 2 weeks as prescribed.

Further management with accuracy depends on PFT's.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.

Thank you for your response, Doctor.

Just to add to my initial question, I get the cough twice or thrice daily between intervals and even won't cough continuously. The other thing is when I take medicine (Montex or Defazalcort) I will be completely fine for next 24 to 30 hrs and cough will return only after that. Hence, Could you please let me know if these are the symptoms of Asthama.

Could you please help to understand what exactly PFT testing? Also could you please advice which medicine you would suggest to continue, Montex LC or Defazalcort 6 mg.

Brief Answer:
Continue with Deflacort 6 mg.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,

Welcome again,

I understand your query and concern.

Your symptoms are exacerbations of asthma secondary to allergic conditions like exposure to house hold dust, dogs etc .

Pulmonary function tests are a group of tests that measure the function of the lungs in the form of inspiratory and expiratory flow rates. The tests can confirm lung diseases, such as asthma, bronchitis or emphysema and even evaluates improvement in lung function in response to drug therapy.

precautions before taking the tests are as follows:
You should not eat a heavy meal before the test, nor smoke for four to six hours beforehand. Sometimes, medication may be administered as part of the test.

I advise you to speak to your pulmonologist(chest physician) regarding PFT 's

I advise you to continue Tab.Deflacort 6 mg as it is the first line drug of choice.

You can use Montex LC in uncontrolled attacks.

I also advise you to take Tusk-D syrup thrice daily for your cough.

NOTE: These drugs should be taken under strict medical prescription of your doctor

Avoid dusty and polluted environments.

Post your further queries if any,

Thank you.
