Brief Answer:
It is normal for a child of this age.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Let me explain that in children below 6 months of age it is absolutely normal to pass stool several times a day or even once in 10 days. I would not really get bothered if the child is not passing stool for a week. However, if the stool is hard and pellet like, it calls for a closer look. Applying glycerine suppository (one part after being split into four parts longitudinally) should help the child in passing stool.

I would also need to ask if the child is exclusively breast fed. Formula feeds may lead to constipation. Switching back to breast milk would reduce the problem.

Regards

Brief Answer:
You need not worry.

Detailed Answer:
It is good to know that the child is exclusively breast fed. In that case you do not need to worry the slightest bit. In case you still wish to intervene, you can use glycerine suppository. It is a waxy solid. Soap can also be used. But better and indigenous alternative would be the pedicle of a paan leaf (betel leaf).
