Suggest Treatment For Complex Cyst In The Ovary

Question: Have a complex cyst within the ovary containing intraluminal curvilinear septation. No definite solid nodule. Negative vascularity. No adnexal masses or free fluid. What are the chances this is cancerous. What does intraluminal mean in this case? What does curvilinear mean? I do not know the thickness of the septation.

A complex cyst even if restricted to the ovary - if it is gradually increasing in size can be cancerous. Few blood tests and biopsy are the only ways to know if it is cancerous or not. Intraluminal means within the lumen of the cyst. The septation of the cyst is slightly curved and is linear at some places. This finding cannot conclusively suggest anything regarding the nature of the cyst.

Hello,

I would like to know what negative vascularity means as pertaining to this complex cyst? Is this good or bad?

No definite solid nodule would suggest what? Again is that good or bad?

One more thing is that my ovary measures 3.4x2.9x3.1cm. The complex cyst that is in my ovary is the same size. What happens if it gets larger? Will it burst my ovary? What will become of my ovary?

Thanks for writing again.
Negative vascularity goes more in favor of a benign cyst as malignant cysts are highly vascular. Solid nodules are also more commonly found in cancerous lesions. All these are favorable findings.
If the cyst enlarges, the ovarian tissue will get slightly compressed. The ovary will not burst. The ovary will become normal after cyst is removed.
